In the FIDE Historical Committee, our goal is to spread education about the incredible and expansive history that is chess history!

We are dedicated to preserving, documenting and debating the rich heritage of international chess and the International Chess Federation.

Our mission is to promote chess across generations by collecting and maintaining records of major events, players, and milestones that have shaped the evolution of the sport.

By bridging the past with the present, the FIDE Historical Committee hopes to deepen appreciation for chess as both a competitive sport and a historical treasure.
